The Sarah Friend Heart Foundation

In Loving Memory (August 10, 1991 - July 14, 2004)

The Sarah Friend Heart Foundation is committed to raising awareness about heart conditions that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in kids and help Texas' schools improve the chances that anyone suffering a sudden cardiac arrest will have the best possible chance for survival.

See how your donations are making an impact

Since 2005, we are extremely proud of the progress our foundation has made; here is how your donations are helping make an impact in our schools:

The foundatiion spearheaded the introduction and passing of Senate Bill 7 and on June 15, 2007 Governor Perry signed into law Senate Bill 7 also known as The Texas AED School Bill. The urgency and message for this program is simple and straightforward, "AED + CPR = Safer Schools."  SB7 requires each school district to make at least one AED available at each campus in the district.  An AED also has to be readily available at every University Interscholastic League (UIL) athletic competition, athletic practice held on campus and available at an athletic competition away from campus.  The most comprehensive school AED law in the United States.
